Potion Necklace DIY

Something I've noticed when I've attempted to DIY anything is that whenever I try to follow a tutorial that says "easy" or "five minute crafts" it always calls for a Hammer Driver Drill or quick dry cement. I don't know about you but I don't have those things just lying around the house. So when I choose to blog about any type of craft I choose to be honest...you will have to buy some of the things required to make these necklaces, but the cost shouldn't be more than $20 for a pack of 10 bottles. I know that's actually a lot but when you think about it, it's only $2 per bottle. And if you can't spend that much then you can probably substitute some of the items. But if you are really invested into Harry Potter crafts, as I am, then you will surely enjoy making these potion bottle necklaces!

    Materials:

  • Little glass bottles with a cork (whatever size you want depending on if you're making a necklace or just a potion bottle)
  • Small necklace chains
  • Jump rings
  • Clasps
  • Mini labels (and any extra little decorations you want to add)
  • Pliers (the only tool needed)
  • Hot glue
  • Clear glue
  • Potion materials (you can use whatever you want, the following is just what I used for my potions)
Note: I either had this at home or bought it at AcMoore

    Amortentia:

  • Pink luster dust (you can find this in any baking aisle) or you can use pink glitter
  • 3 parts Clear glue
  • 1 part Warm water

     Procedure:

  • Mix the luster dust, glue, and water together in the potion bottle with a toothpick
  • Hot glue the bottle shut
  • Cut a piece of chain that fits around the neck of the bottle and connect it with a jump ring
  • Cut a piece of chain to the size you want and connect it with a clasp
  • Then connect the chain to the jump ring on the bottle chain
  • Lastly add whatever decorations you want

    Felix Felicis:

  • 3 parts Gold glitter glue
  • 1 part warm water

     Procedure:

  • Mix the glitter glue and water in a bottle with a toothpick
  • Repeat the last four steps of the previous potion

    Polyjuice Potion:

  • Clear glue
  • Light and dark green glitter
  • Hot Glue

     Procedure:

  • Glue dots small enough to fit in the bottle on a piece of wax paper or on a different surface that hot glue will pop off of and while the glue is still wet sprinkle the light green glitter on them
  • Wait for the dots to cool then take them off the wax paper and put them in the bottle
  • Fill the bottle with clear glue
  • Mix in the dark green glitter
  • Repeat the last four steps of the previous potion
Note: these are the potions I made but you can experiment with other ones
